The third annual Puerto Rico Investment Summit takes place Feb. 11-12, 2016, and Bahia Beach Resort is proud to be an active participant as both an exhibitor and featured speaker and panelist. The theme for this year’s dynamic forum is, "Opportunities Under Acts 20, 22, 273, 399 and Other Alternative Investment Vehicles in Puerto Rico."
This premier private investment event provides a unique platform where individual and institutional investors, multinational CEOs, business owners, government representatives, and private companies gather to learn about the investment opportunities and tax incentive laws while networking with important contacts, both from Puerto Rico and abroad.
Bahia Beach Resort will be in attendance to showcase our outstanding collection of luxury residences and to officially launch one of our newest collections of beachfront condos. Although many of our new construction homes and condos in The Residences are sold out, there are a few premier lots at Bahia Beach that are still under development.
The Summit kicks off with an opening welcome from the Island’s Governor, Hon. Alejandro Garcia Padilla. Morning presentations focus on PR’s economy and legal structure, with afternoon topics that include:
Thursday afternoon’s final session, “Icebreakers,” is moderated by CNBC’s Michelle Caruso-Cabrera and features Bahia Beach’s own John Paulson joined by Michael Tennenbaum, who recently chose PR as a destination for business. John Paulson’s commitment to the Island is witnessed by his acquisition and renovation of not only the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in 2013, but also the Condado Vanderbilt and La Concha hotels in San Juan along with other properties currently under development.
The second day of the conference opens with a keynote address by Rudolph Giuliani followed by a full day of breakout sessions featuring over 40 distinguished panelists. Topics include:
Friday also features a Lifestyle Program designed to introduce partners of the Summit attendees to Puerto Rico’s plentiful family-friendly offerings. In accordance with Act 22 (The Individual Investors Act), investors and their families must maintain residence in Puerto Rico for at least half of the year in order to enjoy substantial tax exemptions on their dividends, interest, and capital gains.
Following breakfast at the Condado Vanderbilt, there will be a real estate presentation highlighting the numerous Puerto Rico luxury residence options available to investors. Additional sessions highlight PR’s world-class health care system, the educational and extracurricular opportunities for children, and an exploration of the many philanthropic organizations on the Island.
Prospective PR residents learn about the unique cultural lifestyle Puerto Rico affords and hear testimonials from “early adopters” who moved their families to the Island. After an exquisite gourmet lunch at the Condado Vanderbilt featuring the freshest locally produced ingredients, participants set out on a guided tour of Old San Juan.
