Puerto Rico has a new dining spot facing a perfect stretch of beach at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort. Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten combines his international cuisine with traditional Puerto Rican ingredients, serving up tasty appetizers like Rice Cracker Crusted Tuna, and mains such as slow cooked salmon with truffle vinaigrette and delicious local lobster with potato gnocchi.
All this in a warm and elegant space designed by architectural firm HKS Hill Glazier Studio, incorporating Latin and Afro-Caribbean materials and textures interpreted in a contemporary fashion within a Spanish Colonial Building. The textured brown flooring is a nod to the early cigar plantation and on the silver-leafed cork walls are handcrafted African light, while the furniture is a mix of mid-century and contemporary pieces.
